Injectables FAQs

Can I have treatments while pregnant and/ or breastfeeding?

Since there is no evidence based research on the safety of receiving injectables while pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend avoiding injectables during this time. Enjoy this time and we look forward to seeing you when the timing is right for you.

What are the differences between fillers and neuromodulators?

Dermal fillers are most often used to help return volume to areas of the face . The loss of volume in the face can contribute to facial features that look saggy, sad and tired. The most common areas to be treated with fillers are the temples, cheeks, lips, chin, jawline, marionettes, tear troughs and nasolabial folds.

Neuromodulators like Botox/Dysport are products that help reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles by disrupting the communication between a motor neuron and a muscle, helping the muscle to relax. The most common areas to be treated with neuromodulators are the forehead lines, the frown line aka the number”11s”, the crows feet or smile lines around the eyes, the masseter muscle and the chin area.

How best can I prepare for my injectable Filler treatments?

  • Do not book dental cleanings 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your Filler treatment
  • Do not receive a vaccine of any kind (COVID, Shingles, Flu shot, Heptatitis, Pneunomovax, etc.) 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatment
  • You must not have a current infections and/or abscesses, or have current or recent antibiotic use (within 2 weeks).
  • Avoid alcohol, herbal supplements, over the counter blood thinners like Aspirins, Advil, Aleve, oral anti-inflammatories for 72 hours before your appointment
  • Avoid strenuous heat, exercise, saunas, tanning beds the day of your treatment and for 48 hours after your treatment.
  • Do not book any facials, massages, or laser treatments for 2 weeks after your injectable treatment.

What is the best time to start my treatments if preparing for a special event?

It is best to plan medical aesthetic treatments well in advance as things like bruising, swelling and redness can be unpredictable and sometimes it just takes time for your skin to adjust to a new routines.

At Look Timeless, we recommend booking a complimentary consultation at least 6-9 months before your big event so we can customize your treatment plan based on your specific goals.

If I stop using neuromodulators like botox and Dysport will my face be saggy?

This is a definite myth; Your face will not change, be loose or saggy after your stop. If you decide to stop or “take a break” from neuromodulators like Botox, the only effect will be a return of your wrinkles over time.

Are consultations necessary?

A consultation is an important and necessary first step in your medical aesthetic journey because of the complex anatomy of the face; something we see that bothers us on the surface of the skin might be a consequence of something underneath the skin in a different part of the face. Oftentimes the area that is bothering you is not actually the area that needs to be treated.

While you may only need a neuromodulator or filler treatment to help resolve your concern, many clients may require the use of both treatments to help achieve their medical aesthetic goals. These products work in different ways and can be complementary to each other. We offer complimentary consultations to get your started on a customized treatment plan to meet your specific goals, timing and budget.

Patients are required to book a consult with Michele or Niala prior to booking their first treatment.

Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness depending on treatment parameters.

Forma FAQs

How does Forma Work?

Radiofrequency treatment with Forma is a non-invasive, pain free way to tighten the skin. A hand-held wand gently heats the dermal layer of the skin to make it work.

As the skin warms up, the body acts as if the treated areas were slightly hurt, making collagen to help the area heal.

The result is skin that is tighter and smoother, with better lift and contour that lasts. The process does not hurt and is not invasive. You can get treatment for all parts of your face, including
  • Smile lines
  • Neck
  • Nose-to-mouth creases
  • Jowls

Forma can treat any area where skin tightening would be helpful. But people often ask, “Will it hurt?” as their first question about skin tightening treatments for the face and body.

The answer is Forma skin tightening is not only painless, but many people find it to be relaxing and comfortable. Patients often say that getting a Forma treatment feels like getting a warm stone massage on their face.

Besides, the Forma wand’s heat settings can be changed by hand so you can use a lower location on sensitive areas like around the eyes. We can put something on your skin that will hurt less.

How safe is Forma?

Forma is safe to use on all skin types and has been approved by Health Canada. It is a completely painless procedure that doesn’t need any time off to heal.

With Forma technology, we can ensure that all treatment areas have the right amount of heat.

How long does the effects of Forma last?

The effects of just one session will last for a couple weeks. But it’s best to do a series of sessions, depending on your goal. That’s because, with a series of sessions and maintenance once a year, results can last up to 12-16 months.

How Does Forma Benefit Me?

Forma has a lot to offer people who want their skin to look smoother and younger. Some of the reasons why Forma technology is a good choice are:
  • Immediate, noticeable improvements
  • The look is natural but younger.
  • Non-invasive
  • No down time
  • All skin types can use it, and it works well.
  • Long-lasting results
